Privacy Policy
EasyRoad ("EasyRoad", "we", "us") is a travel-planning app. This policy describes the data the app actually handles, where it is stored, which providers process it, and how you can delete it.
Using EasyRoad without an account
You can plan a trip without signing in. In that case your trip, checklists and Trip Hub items stay in your browser's local storage on that device only, and are not uploaded to us. Signing in enables cloud sync across your devices.
Account and sign-in data
When you create an account we handle your email address, your password in hashed form, sign-in and email-confirmation timestamps, session tokens, and — if you use them — Google sign-in identity details or passkey credentials. This data is required to have an account and is stored with our managed cloud backend.
Profile and preferences
Optional: a display name and the travel preferences you set (travel style, interests, traveller composition including children's ages if you enter them). Stored in your profile record.
Trips, routes and travel details
Trips you create are synced to your account when you are signed in: destinations, dates, day plans, saved places and stops, stay areas, accommodation names and addresses you enter, transport choices, and flight details such as airline, flight number, times, passenger name, booking reference, ticket number and seat when you add them. Trip data is stored in your account's trip records and kept until you delete the trip or your account.
Items you add to the Trip Hub and your Before You Go checklists are deliberately kept on your device only and are stripped out before any trip is uploaded.
Uploaded travel documents
If you upload a booking confirmation or boarding pass to have flight details read automatically, the file is sent to our AI processing provider to extract the details and the result is shown to you for review. EasyRoad does not store the uploaded file — only the details you confirm are saved into your trip. Please avoid uploading documents containing information that is not needed to plan the trip.
AI assistant
Questions you ask the assistant, and relevant context from your current trip, are sent to our AI processing provider to generate an answer. Your conversation history is kept in your browser, not in your account.
Ratings and personalisation
Optional place reactions (loved / liked / not for me) are stored against your account and used to personalise recommendations. You can change or remove them.
Maps, places and weather
Searching for places, viewing maps, discovering attractions and showing forecasts sends the search text and the relevant coordinates to Google Maps Platform services through our provider gateway. EasyRoad does not request your device's precise location permission.
Analytics, device and diagnostic data
We run first-party analytics with no third-party trackers and no advertising identifiers. We store a random visitor and session identifier held in your browser, the page path, referring site, campaign parameters, language, device type, operating system and browser, an approximate country and city derived from the network request, your account identifier when you are signed in, and error diagnostics. We do not store your IP address and we do not use cookies for tracking.
Feedback and support
Feedback you send is optional. A rating, contact permission and an email address are all optional; if you allow contact, we store the email address you provide so we can follow up. Authorised EasyRoad admins can review feedback and limited account metadata (email, display name, account creation date, confirmation status, last sign-in) to operate and improve EasyRoad during Early Access.
Payments and subscriptions
Purchases in the Android app are handled by Google Play Billing. Where checkout is available on our website, payments are handled by Paddle. You provide payment details directly through the payment provider's checkout. EasyRoad does not receive or store full payment-card numbers or card security codes.
We process and store billing records linked to your EasyRoad account to verify purchases, restore access and keep your plan up to date. These records include the payment provider, customer and subscription identifiers, Google Play purchase tokens, product or price identifiers, billing interval, subscription status, expiry or renewal dates, and trial or cancellation information.
When you open Paddle checkout, we send your EasyRoad account identifier so the purchase can be matched to your account. For Google Play purchases, we use a pseudonymous account identifier for the same purpose. We also retain billing notifications sent by the provider for payment verification, support and troubleshooting. Paddle notifications may include transaction and customer or billing details supplied by the provider.
Google Play and Paddle process checkout information and retain their own transaction records under their privacy policies. Deleting your EasyRoad account does not automatically cancel a subscription or delete the payment provider's records. Manage or cancel the subscription through Google Play or the Paddle customer portal, as applicable.
Service providers
- Managed cloud backend for authentication, database and server functions.
- AI processing gateway for the assistant and document extraction.
- Google Maps Platform for maps, place search and weather.
- Google, if you choose Google sign-in.
- Google Play Billing for Android purchases and purchase verification.

Booking and comparison links (for example accommodation and flight search sites) open those partners' own websites, where their terms and privacy practices apply. We do not sell your personal data.
Security and retention
All traffic between the app and our services is encrypted in transit. We keep your account data while your account exists. After deletion, feedback, analytics and administrative audit records are retained with the link to your account removed, and short-lived copies may persist in encrypted backups until they expire on their normal schedule.
Your choices and requests
Subject to applicable law, you can request to access, correct, export or delete your data. You can delete individual trips in the app, and you can delete your entire account at any time — see Delete your account.
Children
EasyRoad is not intended for children to create accounts independently.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as EasyRoad evolves during Early Access. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
